What respondents said about Excellence in Sales award winner for the Manufacturer category, Terumo territory manager Mimi Hobson:

 

“Mimi has taken the time to understand our business, and she values the relationship between manufacturer and distributor rep,” says Paul Lilly, McKesson sales rep in the Greater Birmingham area. “She is a very high-level communicator,” and stays in touch regarding product launches and changes to existing products.

 

Just as important, Hobson is an educator, says Lilly. “She has educated not only me, but the customers, about changes in OSHA guidelines. She has been an asset to our accounts and distributor reps in helping us learn about what’s required.”

 

“Mimi has the best follow-up,” says McKesson rep Hunter Scott. “If she doesn’t answer her phone, she’ll be back to you within an hour.” She stays in touch with e-mails and phone calls, and gives distributor reps a heads-up as to when she’ll be in their area. “She puts out the effort to stay in front of you, and she’s probably one of the best – if not the best – at making sure she’s at our regional meetings.

 

“I’ve never seen Mimi make a bad presentation” to a customer, adds Scott. “When she’s in front of the customer, you can just get out of the way. If you get Mimi in there, it’s sold. She doesn’t miss anything.”
