Fuel-efficient. But fun too? You bet. Electric cars are a gas (figuratively speaking), according to Tom Gillis, blogger for Forbes.com. They’re so fun, in fact, that we’ll all be driving them in 10 years, he says, with a slight bit of exaggeration. “Electric motors produce maximum torque at zero RPMs, which means they snap to life at the touch of the accelerator,” he writes. “When I drive my car, I find myself praying for the light to turn red so I can have the fun of pulling nearly a full G of acceleration when the light turns green …. It’s like pushing an elevator button and gracefully gliding up 32 stories. Revving up a gas-powered Porsche is more like walking up 32 stories. Yeah, you get there, but sheesh, what an effort. And it takes longer.”
